We can’t wait to welcome you home to remember the past and to celebrate the present!
The School Sisters of St. Francis are partnering with Mt. Assisi Place to host Welcome Home, a special day to remember the past and celebrate the present, on Saturday, October 7, 2023. All alums are invited to join us at Mt. Assisi Place, formerly Mount Assisi Convent, to rekindle old memories and to see all that’s new.
Although physical and fiscal realities prompted the Sisters to sell the Mount Assisi property in 2019, their presence remains “agleam on the hilltop,” where more than a dozen of our Sisters still live and our community continues to coordinate daily Masses in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel.
We welcome you and your family back for a special day filled with opportunities
to reconnect with the faces and places you remember from your high school days.
Mount Assisi Academy

Special intentions for all alums and former faculty of Mount Assisi Academy (1928-1978+) will be part of the liturgy. Our alumnae will be special guests as we welcome one and all to worship alongside the Sisters with music and readings specially selected for the day.
Tours of the former Mount Assisi Convent & Academy
11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Visit the spaces and places you remember from your school days, including the original motherhouse chapel and classrooms. and a special heritage display Visit St. Francis Cemetery, where you can enjoy a few moments of quiet and pay respects to our deceased Sisters. Learn about Mt. Assisi Place, as Sisters and staff explain how the care team is carrying forward the Sisters’ century-long mission of service.

12 to 2 p.m. in the Mount Assisi Gymnasium
We welcome you to visit with the Sisters while enjoying a delicious lunch of sandwiches, salads, sweets and beverages. Lunch tickets are $20 per person (purchase ahead of time or pay by cash or check on event day). You are welcome to dine anytime within the two-hour window, enjoy a commemorative slideshow, and linger to chat with classmates.
SHOW OFF YOUR SPIRIT WITH A
MOUNT ASSISI ACADEMY T-SHIRT
The School Sisters of St. Francis have designed a special commemorative T-shirt to help our Mount Assisi Academy alumnae show off their Fiat spirit! The window to pre-order T-shirts has closed. However, we will have some shirts in popular sizes available for sale on event day. They are $15 each, payable by cash or check.

The Sisters have contact information for many MAA alumnae, but not all. Please help us spread the word by contacting your classmates and inviting them to be part of this special day, either in person or by contributing to our heritage display. If you live far away and can’t join us, be there in spirit by sharing a message with the Sisters and your fellow alums. It’s simple to submit your message using our online form. Additional copies of our our commemorative event program will be available following the event in the fall.
Lend Us Your Memorabilia
Do you still have your school uniform, basketball jersey, jacket, Chimes or some other artifact from your time at Mount Assisi Academy? We’d love to include it in our special heritage display. Items will be returned, and you will be listed as the contributor. To be part of the day in this special way, email Joanne Osborn (MAA 1973) by September 1.
GET YOUR LUNCH TICKETS
We hope you’ll stay for lunch with the Sisters. You can order your tickets ahead of time or pay with cash or check at the event. Tickets are $20 per person and can be used anytime between 12 and 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 7. No tickets will be mailed. Your ticket reservation will be on file at the luncheon.
